Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck reports the arrest of a 55-year-old Camillus man following an investigation into a suspicious incident in Fleming.
Deputies were called to a business in the town on September 29. The investigation led to a search warrant, which turned up a switchblade knife, a metal knuckle knife, and 6.8 grams of cocaine. As a result, Peter Day was arrested and charged with criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree.
Day was processed at the Public Safety Building, arraigned in CAP Court, and released on his own recognizance. He is due back in Fleming Town Court on October 14.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
