Branchport Woman Accused of Driving on a Revoked License

A Branchport woman will appear in Penn Yan Village Court following a traffic stop in the Yates County village.

62-year-old Ruth Reid was spotted by police driving on Lake Street while allegedly having an inoperable headlamp. A traffic stop was initiated and a check of Reid’s license revealed she had a revoked license.

Reid was ticketed for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, unlicensed operator and no/inadequate headlamps.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
