A Beaver Dams man was arrested Tuesday by the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office on a petit larceny charge.
34-year-old Joseph McCarty is accused of stealing from Walmart in the town of Horseheads on Monday.
McCarty was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Horseheads Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
