A disturbance in the village of Bath this week resulted in the arrest of two people.
During the course of the investigation at Colonial Lawns, multiple items of drug paraphernalia were seen in plain view throughout the residence, according to village police. Four people inside the residence were detained while a search was conducted. As a result, officers recovered a quantity of fentanyl and numerous items used in the packaging and sales of drugs.
26-year-old Travis Carlton, of Bath, and 31-year-old Jennifer Benson, of Addison, were charged with Felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and two misdemeanor counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia. The other two occupants inside the residence were released.
Carlton and Benson were released on appearance tickets.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
