Bath Man Charged Following Incident at Save-A-Lot

SHARE NOW

A 61-year-old Bath man was charged with obstruction of governmental administration after an incident at the Save-A-Lot store in the Village of Bath.

Authorities say Warren Hoffman was accused of shoplifting, and by the time police arrived, he had already left the store. Officers located Hoffman shortly afterward, and he allegedly ran when approached for questioning. He was detained a short time later.

Store officials requested trespassing charges, while Bath police added the obstruction charge.

Hoffman was arraigned and released on an appearance ticket.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
