A Bath man was arrested on a felony charge following a traffic stop in the Steuben County village.
Police say they pulled over Chancy Seager whom they knew had a suspended license after spotting him driving. Officers initiated a traffic stop on West Steuben Street and observed a passenger inside of the car who was the protected party of a stay away Order of Protection against him.
Seager was charged with felony criminal contempt due to having a prior conviction and misdemeanor aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Seager was transported to the Steuben County Jail where he was being held without bail.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
