A resident of the Budget Inn in the village of Bath is being held at the Steuben County Jail without bail after being arrested on two felonies.
When officers went to the motel, Adam Webster allegedly denied to police having the protected party of an active Stay Away Order of Protection in his room. With Webster failing to cooperate with officers, an investigation determined the protected party was indeed in his room. When officers advised that he was going to be placed in custody, Webster allegedly attempted to flee back into his room. After a brief struggle, Webster was taken into custody, and the protected party was located.
Webster was charged with criminal contempt and aggravated family offense, both felonies, and misdemeanor resisting arrest.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
