A Bath man is facing a felony charge of aggravated family offense following the investigation into a reported domestic dispute in the Steuben County village.
When police arrived at a residence on West Morris Street, they were met by an elderly woman who had suffered injuries stemming from the alleged domestic dispute. After further investigation, it was determined that Michael Parkinson was still inside the home where the alleged incident had occurred. Officers made contact with Parkinson, who was placed under arrest without incident.
The 40-year-old was charged with aggravated family offense and assault, both felonies.
Parkinson was sent to Steuben County Jail, where he was being held without bail.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
