The execution of a no-knock search warrant in the village of Bath by police resulted in the arrest of a Bath man on drug charges.
During the warrant execution at the Casey Lane home, officers reportedly seized approximately two ounces of methamphetamine that was intended to be illegally distributed in the Steuben County village. Officers also located and seized a number of drug packaging and sales materials, as well as controlled substances and undisclosed evidence they classified as “relevant.”
31-year-old Shane Cummings was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence, both felonies, as a result. Bath Police say two additional people were detained pursuant to the investigation and were released.
Cummings was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail. He was released on appearance tickets.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
