An assault in the village of Bath resulted in the arrest of a Bath man.
The alleged victim told police they were assaulted by another person on East William Street near Liberty Street. Bath Police viewed the assault that was caught on village cameras. The suspect, Luis Rivera, was found approximately an hour later walking on Gansevoort Street. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with assault.
Following his arraignment, Rivera was released on an appearance ticket.
The assault victim was checked over by Bath Ambulance.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
