Bath Man Arrested For Stealing Commercial Oven from Penn Yan Business

SHARE NOW

On Saturday,  Penn Yan Police arrested a Bath man following an investigation into a larceny from a local business.

Phillip Hayden, 65, was taken into custody in the Village of Penn Yan and charged with Petit Larceny. The arrest follows a report that a commercial oven had been stolen from a business earlier in the day.

Officers were able to obtain information identifying Hayden as the suspect. Penn Yan Police were assisted by the New York State Police in contacting Hayden and negotiating the return of the stolen property.

Hayden was processed and released on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to answer the charge in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
