SHARE NOW

A village of Bath resident was arrested after on a felony charge he allegedly threatened police.

On Thursday, police were called to the Tops Friendly Market store in the village of Bath to check the welfare of an individual. During the course of the incident, store management advised police they wanted the suspect trespassed. As they attempted to place Richard Snyder into custody, he allegedly menaced police officers with a dangerous instrument. After a brief struggle, Snyder was placed into custody and charged with trespassing, resisting arrest, menacing, and felony criminal possession of a weapon.

Snyder was taken to the Steuben County Jail to await arraignment.

Police say Snyder had just been released from police custody for similar crimes on Wednesday.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
