On Thursday, a 63-year-old Tioga County woman turned herself in to the Penn Yan Police on an active bench warrant.
Cynthia Cross, of Barton, was taken into custody on a warrant issued by the Penn Yan Village Court. The arrest was for failing to appear in court regarding the original charges.
Cross was processed and later transported to the Yates County Jail to await centralized arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
