Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck says deputies arrested an Aurelius woman last week for violating a court order of protection.
28-year-old Grace Shepard was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor, after deputies say she was found inside the protected party’s home on October 2 while that person was present.
Shepard was processed at the Public Safety Building and later arraigned, with bail set at $2,000 cash or $4,000 bond. She is due back in Aurelius Town Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
