Auburn Woman Charged with Aggravated Harassment After Threatening Messages

SHARE NOW

A City of Auburn woman is facing charges after allegedly threatening someone through electronic messages.

Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck reports that 33-year-old Tamara Buchanan was arrested on June 28 and charged with Aggravated Harassment in the Second Degree, a misdemeanor.

The charge stems from an incident on June 25 when deputies responded to a complaint at a residence in the Village of Weedsport. The victim reported receiving threatening messages that indicated possible physical harm.

Following an investigation, deputies determined that Buchanan was responsible for sending the messages. She was taken into custody and issued an appearance ticket for Weedsport Village Court.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
