Auburn Police arrested a local woman on Saturday following an alleged incident at Wegmans.
When officers arrived at the Loop Road store, they took a woman in custody for trespassing and shoplifting. The suspect, identified as Michelle Declerck, did not pay for $198.05 worth of food, which consisted of several Ribeye and New York Strip steaks.
Declerck had recently been trespassed from Wegmans property in September. Due to her being trespassed from the property and then allegedly committing a crime while trespassing in the building, Declerck was charged with burglary.
Following her arraignment at the Cayuga County Jail., Declerck was held in lieu of bail
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
