Auburn Woman Arrested on Bench Warrants in Seneca Falls

SHARE NOW

A 57-year-old Auburn woman is facing charges after being arrested early Saturday morning on two outstanding bench warrants stemming from a 2022 theft case.

According to the Seneca Falls Police Department, Rebecca Gould was taken into custody around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday. One warrant was issued after Gould failed to appear in court for a petit larceny charge dating back to December 2022. She had originally been released on an appearance ticket.

The second warrant, for third-degree bail jumping, was issued after Gould again failed to appear in court, despite receiving proper notice. That charge also relates to the same petit larceny case.

Gould was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
