The investigation into a reported physical domestic incident on Sunday night resulted in the arrest of an Auburn man.

It was reported to police that the female caller was punched in the face and had requested medical attention. Upon arrival, the suspect, 23-year-old Adam Thomas, Junior, had fled the scene.

An investigation by the Auburn Police Department determined Thomas had allegedly struck the victim and that an 11-month old child was also involved in the incident. Officers further gained information that Thomas Junior was located at the Cayuga Inn at the Finger Lakes, where they responded and arrested him. While effecting the arrest, it was learned that Thomas, Junior, was allegedly in violation of a full stay away order of protection with a third-party female.

Thomas, Junior, was charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child from the initial complaint. He was additionally charged with aggravated criminal contempt as a result of the Order of Protection violation.

Due to being on felony probation, the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office recommended Thomas, Junior, be held without bail. At last word, Thomas was still await arraignment.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
