Auburn police responded to a reported domestic dispute at the area of Parker Street and Fitch Ave. in the City of Auburn at around 4 a.m. on Nov. 3.
During the course of the investigation, it was alleged that Eric Ostander Jr. had engaged in a verbal argument with a woman at his residence. When the woman left the residence on foot, Ostrander followed behind her before pushing her to the ground and forcibly stealing her cell phone. He then ran away from the scene, and responding officers were unsuccessful in locating him at that time.
A few days later, officers located Ostrander at his residence and took him into custody on Nov. 6. Ostrander has been transported to the Cayuga County jail for arraignment. His charges consist of robbery, petit larceny, and harassment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation; the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
