SHARE NOW

On Wednesday, the Auburn Police Department announced the arrest of an Auburn man following an investigation into an order of protection violation.

The arrest stems from an incident on February 23, at approximately 36 Delevan Street. Officers were dispatched to the residence after receiving reports that a male was at the location in violation of a full stay-away order of protection.

During the investigation, it was discovered that Martin Scott Sr., 34, allegedly went to the address in the middle of the night in an attempt to make contact with a female victim. Scott Sr. had previously been served a court order requiring him to refrain from any contact with the victim or their residence.

Scott Sr. was charged with Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, which is a class E felony.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
