The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of an Auburn man on felony aggravated family offense charges.
It is alleged that on February 19th, Sheriff’s Deputies and a New York State Trooper were dispatched to a home in Owasco for a welfare check complaint. The complainant stated that she had received a text from her friend who was at a home in Owasco and that the text was requesting help. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered that Andrew Leader was allegedly in the presence of the victim in violation of a full stay-away Order of Protection issued out of Auburn City Court. The victim was not injured.
In addition to the felony aggravated family offense charge, the 44-year-old Leader was charged with misdemeanor criminal contempt.
Leader was arraigned at Centralized Arraignment where he was sent to Cayuga County Jail without bail due to prior felony convictions.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
