Auburn Man Arrested for Violating Order of Protection

SHARE NOW

The Auburn Police Department arrested a local man last Friday following repeated violations of a protective order.

Police say 29-year-old Anthony Johns of Auburn was issued an Order of Protection on November 18. From that date until the complaint was filed, Johns allegedly contacted the protected person daily through texts, phone calls, and voicemails, some containing sexually explicit images and videos.

According to authorities, the victim met with Johns multiple times despite the order and told police that on December 2, Johns went to her workplace and brushed snow off her vehicle.

The victim reported the violations to police around 5 p.m. Friday, leading to Johns’ arrest at the Grant Motel. Because of his prior domestic-related criminal history, he was charged with felony aggravated family offense and misdemeanor criminal contempt.

The investigation is continuing.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
