Auburn Man Arrested for December Assault in Fleming

An Auburn man has been arrested for an assault that occurred back in December.

According to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, a warrant was issued for Tyresse Smith after he allegedly attacked the victim with a metal rake following a verbal dispute on Silver Street Road in the Town of Fleming on December 6. He then fled before deputies arrived.

The victim did not require medical treatment.

The 23-year-old was found at the Auburn Inn on Tuesday and arrested without incident.

Smith faces a felony charge of Criminal Possession of a Weapon and a misdemeanor charge of Menacing. Following his arrest, he was issued an appearance ticket for Fleming Town Court to answer the charges against him at a later date.
