An Auburn resident has been charged with felony sexual abuse for an alleged incident that occurred last Fall in the Cayuga County city.
Auburn Police say their extensive investigation, coupled with confirmed DNA analysis, revealed Charles Shaffer had sexually assaulted a woman at a residence on Owasco Street on October 19th. Shaffer was taken into custody on July 1st by multiple Cayuga County law enforcement agencies.
Shaffer’s status following his initial court arraignment was not disclosed.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
