A man riding an electric scooter on State Street in front of the Auburn Correctional Facility was arrested by Auburn Police on outstanding charges from two separate and unrelated incidents.

In the first incident on June 1st, Anthony Centolella, Junior, allegedly stabbed a person who was inside of a home on 61 Washington Street in Auburn. The victim needed stitches to his neck and forearm, according to Auburn Police.

In the second incident, the 32-year-old Centolella allegedly approached a man who was walking by 61 Washington Street and began arguing with him. Centolella then allegedly pulled an air powered pistol from his waistband and discharged it multiple times at the victim, striking them in the torso, neck, and arm.

Centolella was arrested on two felony counts of assault, and two felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon. He was also charged with misdemeanor menacing.

Centolella was brought to the Cayuga County Jail for arraignment.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
