An Auburn man has been arrested on drug charges.
On March 22nd, Cayuga County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a Morris Street address in an attempt to locate 26-year-old Jacob Heintz for an active bench warrant for his arrest. Heintz was located and taken into custody. During a search of Heintz after he was arrested, he was allegedly found to be in possession of a baggy containing a white powdery substance. Upon the completion of a lab analysis of the substance, it was determined that the white powdery substance was cocaine.
On April 26th, Heintz was taken into custody on the charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Heintz was released on an appearance ticket and will appear in Auburn City Court on May 7th.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
