A 29-year-old is facing charges after allegedly holding his mother against her will.
According to the Auburn Police Department, the incident occurred around 10:30a on January 30 when officers responded to a Cottage St residence for the report of a woman being held against her will by her son.
An investigation by police alleges that Travis Hoskins got into an argument with his mother, causing her to lock herself in her bedroom for safety. Hoskins is then accused of punching the bedroom door while threatening to kill himself. He eventually put a hole in the door, causing injury to himself. Additionally, before the police arrived, Hoskins threatened to kill his mother.
Hoskins was arrested without incident, according to police, and charged with Criminal Mischief and Harassment. Due to a previous domestic assault conviction, he was additionally charged with Aggravated Family Offense, a felony.
Hoskins was issued an order of protection and released.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
