A Syracuse man is facing charges after being caught in Auburn on Thanksgiving with a sizeable amount of drugs.
According to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, deputies initiated a traffic stop on Arterial West near North Fulton Street as part of a proactive DWI enforcement detail. When they approached Jerrell Brown’s car, they allegedly saw drugs in plain view which led to a further search of Brown and the vehicle. As a result of the search, 90 glassine envelopes of Fenatanyl, 5.3 grams of cocaine, and a large quantity of Molly were found.
The 35-year-old was arrested and taken to the county jail for arraignment. Brown faces three felony counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the sheriff’s K9 unit, the Finger Lakes Drug Taskforce, Cayuga County 911, and the Auburn Police Department
