A Friday afternoon disturbance in Wayne County resulted in the arrest of a 35-year-old Arcadia man.
Through an investigation, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office determined that Jared Nesmith went over to speak to the mother of his child and allegedly became irate. When a neighbor stepped in to defend the woman, Nesmith allegedly punched the man in the face. The entire incident occurred in front of a one-year-old child.
Nesmith was arrested on charges of criminal contempt, endangering the welfare of a child, harassment, and assault.
Nesmith was brought to the Wayne County Jail to await CAP arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
