A 62-year-old Penn Yan resident is facing a violation charge after police say he was caught drinking alcohol in public.
According to the Penn Yan Police Department, officers observed Richard Hall with an open container of beer while walking along the Outlet Trail. Authorities say Hall has received multiple prior warnings for drinking in public.
Hall was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge in Penn Yan Village Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
