Police arrested a Montezuma woman after she allegedly drove drunk to the scene of an accident involving a car registered to her.
After Amanda Tanner arrived on scene, Cayuga County Sheriff’s Deputies say they observed possible impairment and began a DWI investigation in which she was ultimately determined to be intoxicated. Tanner was arrested and brought to the Cayuga County Public Safety Building for processing where she refused to submit to a chemical test for intoxication.
Tanner was charged with DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in Port Byron Village Court at a later date to answer the charges.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
