The investigation into a one-car accident with entrapment in Seneca County led to the arrest of a Geneva woman.
Police say Jessica Romo was traveling through the intersection of Hecker and Edwards roads in the town of Waterloo as another car was approaching. Romo’s vehicle took evasive action and rolled onto the passenger side into the ditch on the east side of the roadway. Her vehicle sustained heavy damage. After being rescued, Romo was checked over at the scene by North Seneca Ambulance and was found to have escaped injury. During the investigation, Romo showed signs of intoxication and deputies concluded alcohol played a contributing factor in the accident. She was charged with DWI, DWI with .08 or more, failure to use a designated lane and failure to keep right of way at an intersection.
Romo is due back in Waterloo Town Court next month.
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by North Seneca Ambulance and the Border City Fire Department.
