Virginia E. (Bush) (Ellison) Rappleye, 89, of Watkins Glen, New York, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026.

The family will receive friends and relatives at Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen on Monday (July 27th) from 1 PM to 3 PM, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM. She will be interred at Tyrone Union Cemetery.

Born on April 16, 1937, in Montour Falls, New York, Virginia lived a life marked by hard work, independence, and a love for adventure. She spent 38 dedicated years as an NC Machinist at Moog Inc., where her strong work ethic and dedication earned the respect of those who worked alongside her.

Virginia was known for her independent spirit, outgoing personality, and love of riding motorcycles. She embraced life with enthusiasm and enjoyed the freedom of the open road. A faithful member of her local Baptist church, she found strength in her faith and cherished the friendships she made throughout her life.

She is survived by her two sons, Jamie L. Ellison and his wife, Rose, and Claude R. Ellison; her stepsons, John Rappleye and his wife, Peggy, and Winston Charles "Charlie" Rappleye; her sister, Mary (Bush) Marlatt; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, DeForest James Bush and Cecil May Bush (Ameigh); husbands, Jesse L. Eliison and Winston J. Rappleye; two sisters, Jean Bedient and Grace Andrews; and step-children, Steve, Gary, Jim, and Kevin.

Virginia will be remembered for her resilience, her warm and outgoing personality, and the practical wisdom she often shared. One of her favorite sayings, "Save it for a rainy day," reflected the common sense and thoughtful outlook on life that she passed on to those who knew and loved her.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
