Rochester: Timothy E. Pierce, age 60, of Rochester, formerly of Penn Yan and Dundee, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, N.Y. Honoring his wishes, there are no prior calling hours. A graveside memorial service will be held in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Assoc., P.O. Box 1131, Fairfax, VA 22038-1131.
Timothy was born July 24, 1952, in Penn Yan, N.Y., the son of Kay and Jacqueline Curran Shoemaker. He graduated from Dundee Central School in 1971. He moved to Rochester in the early 1980s to work for Eastman Kodak. When Kodak downsized, he accepted a position with Thermo Fisher Scientific in Penfield, NY, where he worked for 15 years until he became disabled. Tim enjoyed playing pool, having helped his grandfather Curran run the family pool hall in Dundee for many years, and was a drummer in his grandfather's band in his younger years.
He is survived and will be missed by one son, Shawn E. Pierce, and his fiancé, Sara Rizzo, with whom he made his home; a grandson, Kylar Wills-Pierce, of Rochester; his mother, Jacqueline I. Einsfield; a brother, "Lenny" (Debbie) Pierce, all of Dundee; a sister, Kathleen ("Quazie" Capuano) McShea of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.
