Thomas L. Shults

Thomas Lee Shults passed away on July 2, 2026, in Jacksonville, Florida.

He was born at West Point Military Academy on December 4, 1952, to Lawrence and Joyce Ann Shults. Tom was drafted into the US Army in June 1972 and served in the 570th military police platoon railway in Frankfurt, Germany. He was honorably discharged in June 1974.

Tom graduated from SUNY Albany in 1977 with a BS in Accounting and Economics. He worked as a controller for Bo-Mer Manufacturing, International Finance Manager at Intertek Group, and retired in 2014 from Fortegra Financial as Senior Accounting Manager.

Tom is survived by his wife Jayne, children Thomas F. Shults, Amanda Shults Argyriadis, Erin Shults Smith, and Matthew L. Shults. He has three grandchildren, Victoria, Forrest, and Harper. Other family members are his stepmother Elizabeth Shults and brothers and sisters David K. Shults, Kristy (Shults) Weber, Curtis Shults, Barbara VanNostrand Shults, Laura (Shults) Riggs, Ellie Hallmark (deceased), Gail (Rey) Parker, Michelle (Rey) Taylor, and Karen (Rey) Newcomber.

A graveside service will be held on August 8th at Willow Glen Cemetery at 1 PM. A celebration of life will be held at Curley's Red Suspender Room in Auburn, NY, at 3 PM on August 8th. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
