Thomas E. Breen
Thomas E. Breen, 94, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Geneva General Hospital, with his family by his side.
Tom was born in Savannah, September 29, 1930, the son of the late Thomas E. and Edith (Roberts) Breen, Sr. He never stopped working; always loved and provided for his family. He had a great passion for golf and lived on his lawn mower up until his last days. He was a member of the American Legion for 69 years, after serving 4 years in the United States Air Force and being honorably discharged in 1952. He was a loving husband, a true father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be sorely missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Joann R. (Smith) Breen; children Thomas E. (Janie) Breen III, Robert L. (Stephanie) Breen, Roxanne (Terry) Burgess, Vickie (Robert) Watkins, Cheryl Myers, Jill (James) Young, Kathy Breen, and Ryan (Elizabeth) Breen; brothers William and Robert Breen; sisters Betty Renarie and Ruth Wickem; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a son, Charles Breen; sisters Judith Spencer, Earla Mae Abbott; and grandson Thomas Breen, IV.
In keeping with Tom’s wishes, there will be no public calling hours or burial. A private celebration of his life will be held for family members at a later date.
