Sharon Sue Rauber
Sharon Sue Rauber, age 82, of Canaseraga, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Friday, July 17, 2026.
Sharon was born on October 14, 1943, in Muncie, Indiana, to the late Alice and Richard Jenkinson. She attended St. Lawrence Catholic School in Muncie before continuing her education at Finger Lakes Community College. Sharon worked as a librarian at Naples Central School and later served as a records keeper at both Albany Medical Center and St. James Hospital.
Above all, Sharon will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother and great-grandmother whose kindness and unwavering love for her family touched everyone who knew her.
Sharon was an active member of the Lioness Club and the Red Hat Society. She also served as a past president of Child Protective Services for Livingston County. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, bowling, snowmobiling, and spending hours with a good book.
Sharon was predeceased by her beloved husband of 34 years, Gerald Rauber, Senior Investigator with the New York State Police; her parents, Alice and Richard Jenkinson; and her siblings, Mary Dungan, Rick Jenkinson, and Joseph Jenkinson.
She is survived by her loving son, Greg (Tammy) Rauber; her grandchildren, Geoffrey (Katherine) Rauber, Christen Rauber, and Matthew Rauber; several great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Family and friends are invited to call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home in Wayland. A graveside service will be held at the Rauber Family Cemetery.
