Ruth Anne (Norton) Karge

Clifton Springs - Ruth Anne (Norton) Karge, 90, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. Ruth was born in Forksville, Pennsylvania, where she spent her childhood and graduated from Loyalsock Joint High School. She later earned her associate degree before marrying the love of her life, Alvin. Ruth found her greatest joy and purpose in being a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, dedicating herself to raising her children.

Ruth enjoyed crafting, crocheting, and reading. She loved sharing her knowledge of cooking and baking with anyone eager to learn, especially her children and grandchildren. Family camping trips to Maine and Nicks Lake in Old Forge created many cherished memories over the years. Known for her kind heart and welcoming spirit, Ruth was a friend and mother figure to many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ruth will be remembered by her children, Wanda (Karge) Orlopp, Michael Karge, Steve (Lonnie) Karge, Jason Karge, Scott (Sharon) Karge; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sister Linda (George) Norton-Griffith; and many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband Alvin Karge in 2003; son-in-law Jay Orlopp; daughter-in-law Nicole Karge. Private burial will be in Port Gibson Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a date to be announced.
