Richard C. Weber

Cohocton, NY December 27, 1947 – June 14, 2026 Age 78

Richard C. Weber, 78, of Cohocton, New York, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, at Robert Packer Hospital.

Born on December 27, 1947, in North Tonawanda, New York, Richard proudly served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1975, including one year in Vietnam. After his military service, he spent many years working as a truck driver, providing for his family through hard work and dedication.

Richard’s greatest pride was his family. He was especially proud of his three children and the families they built. Through sharing memories of his time in Vietnam, he inspired both his son and his youngest daughter to serve in the military and was honored to see that legacy of service continue through the next generation. His love of wrestling followed him from high school, through his military career, and he shared that love with his oldest daughter and her husband as they raised their three boys. He spent each fall hunting at Cherry Creek with his brothers-in-law on the family land. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, and working on race cars.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine Weber; his children, Wendi Napieraj (Michael Napieraj), Joseph Avery (Susan Avery), and Tiffany Washburn (Jason Washburn); his brothers, Karl Weber (Joan McGarvey-Weber) and David Weber (Maria Weber); his sister, Barbara Schreader (Roger Schreader); seven grandchildren; three great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter expected to arrive soon; and a fifth great-grandchild expected in the spring of 2027.

A private family service with military honors will be held, followed by a Celebration of Life on August 1, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the Cohocton American Legion, where friends and family are invited to gather, share memories, and honor Richard’s life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Richard’s memory.
