Richard Marshall Hudson
Richard Marshall Hudson was born in Clyde, NY, to Al & Clara McChesney Hudson on May 28, 1933, and died on July 3, 2026, in Auburn, NY.
Dick taught hundreds of young people to drive, industrial arts, and adult education at Union Springs Central School from 1965 through 1991. He married Jean Loomis in 1953, and they were partners for nearly 73 years. Dick served in the U.S. Navy, studied at Oswego, and taught in Frankfort, NY, before moving to Union Springs.
Dick was deeply involved in church groups and events from his teenage years in the Baptist church and the United Ministry/Trinity Church in Union Springs. He worked with the Lions on innumerable chicken barbecues to serve the community. Dick helped teachers build their houses, and they helped him and his family to build the home in which he lived.
Dick loved his family, which included his wife Jean, children: Cindy and husband Marsh, Mark, and David (deceased), and grandchildren: Naomi, Moses, and his wife Sandra. He was treasured by many students, teachers, and community members.
