Peggy T. Gile
Marion/Savannah: Peggy went home to be with the Lord on April 9, 2013, at age 93.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Norton Funeral Home, 13081 West Church Street, Savannah. A Celebration of Peggy's Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Savannah Community Church, 13368 East Seneca Street, Savannah. Interment will be at the Butler-Savannah Cemetery on Route 89. Peggy was born in Wallasey, Cheshire, England, on January 4, 1920, to Bertha (Broadbent) and Harold Victor Humphreys Trapnell. She came to this country as a war bride in January 1947. Peggy worked at Sylvania in Seneca Falls, NY; Cato Show Print in Cato, NY; and was a secretary for the Cato-Meridian Central School District for many years. She enjoyed singing in the choir, traveling, reading, flowers, knitting, and crocheting.
Peggy is survived by her children Alliston (Diane) Gile, Stephen (Connie) Gile, Mason Butch (Ann) Gile, and Suzanne (Ray) Braselton; her grandchildren Andrea, Tammy (John), Jennifer, Jessie, Stacy, Nick (Crystal); great-grandchildren Cody, Abigail, Emily, Dante, Chase, Andres, Mia, Jaelynne, Nathan, Brandon, Brianna, DJ, Patricia, and Macie; her sister Rene Roberts of England; and many nieces and nephews. Peggy was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Mason Alliston Gile, in 2003, and by grandson Brian Blaisdell in 1999.
