Nancy (Covert) Reff

Nancy Reff, 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Geneva General Hospital, just one month and two days after the passing of her beloved husband, Dick, with her loving family by her side.

In keeping with Nancy’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Burial will take place in West Lodi Cemetery, Lodi.

Nancy was born on May 17, 1940, in Seneca Falls, the daughter of the late John D. and Helen (Dohrer) Covert. She graduated from Ovid Central School, Auburn Community College, and the Willard School of Nursing. She dedicated 22 years of service to Willard Psychiatric Center and later continued working part-time at Willard, GHS Federal Credit Union, and Finger Lakes Federal Credit Union. She also worked per diem at Tompkins Community Hospital. Nancy further served her community for many years as the Ovid Town Clerk and Registrar.

Nancy took great pride and joy in her children and grandchildren. She had a second love—BINGO—and cherished the many friendships and memories she made there. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband throughout their 65 years together.

Nancy is survived by her son, Kevin Reff (Susan Jaskaran); her daughter, Anne (David) Thomson; her grandchildren, David (Megan) Thomson, Candace (Kenneth) Poolton, Cody Thomson, Jonathan Reff, and Anthony Reff; her great-grandson, Elliott; her brother, Jack Covert; and special friends, Kim VanCleef and Melanie Coleman.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Richard J. “Dick” Reff, who passed away on May 18, 2026, and by her cousin, Carol Covert Farrell.
