Nancy S. Langley

Mechanic, NY November 1, 1946 – June 25, 2026 Age 79

Nancy S. Langley, age 79, longtime resident of Mechanic Street, passed away at Rochester General Hospital on Thursday, June 25, 2026.

Nancy was born in Buffalo on November 1, 1946, and was a daughter of the late Melvin and Vivan (nee Hunt) Moore. She had worked at Willard State Hospital and Seneca Army Depot. In the early 1990s, she moved to Georgia, working at Dobbins AFB. Nancy returned to the area and worked for Community Bank NA both in Ovid and Interlaken. She was the ultimate "crafty lady" and enjoyed many crafts, painting, and cross stitch. Her retirement was busy with yard sales, and she was always purchasing the perfect items for everyone in her family. Nancy has also found great support and comfort from Ovid Federated Church, of which she has been a longtime member.

Nancy's kind and gentle spirit will be missed by her family: Roger M. Langley of Ithaca, William J. Langley, Thomas J. (Jennifer Warnow) Langley, and Kimberly (Douglas Ward) Langley; her grandchildren, George (Kari) Oliver, Noelle Langley, Carrie (Jason) Langley, and Joshua (Cecelia) Langley and their families; her brothers, James M. "Moley" Moore and Wendell (Terry) Moore. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Nancy Sue, and her siblings, Carolyn, Marilyn, and Bill.

The family will receive friends at Ovid Federated Church from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 11, 2026. A memorial service led by Pastor Rob Mellgard will then follow at 11:00 AM. Kindly consider a donation to the American Heart Association in Nancy's memory.
