Mya Louise Eleanor McUmber

Mya Louise Eleanor McUmber passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2026, at Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital in Syracuse.

Mya was born on December 8, 2025, at Crouse Hospital, and was the daughter of Hannah (Whiffen) and Joshua McUmber, who survive her. Mya was always happy and smiling. She spent her first 150 days of life in the NICU and was then able to join her family at home in Sempronius.

In addition to her parents, Hannah and Josh, she is missed by her brothers Kaden, Oliver, Theo, and Parker, and her sister Athena. She is also survived by her grandparents, Betty and Leon McUmber; great-grandparents Mary Ann Whiffen and Sharon and Sidney Reeves; her 'Nana' Heather Chase and 'Papa' Kenneth Chase; by aunts and uncles: Andrea and Matthew Cross (Mya's Godfather), Jessica McUmber, Mya and Victoria Luoma; close family friends, Shania Chase and Eleanor Southard (Mya's Godmom); and by many cousins.

She was predeceased by her grandmother, Kimberly Whiffen, and grandfather, Randy Reeves, and brothers, Alexander and Colton McUmber.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Mya's honor at the Locke Fire Department Banquet Hall at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 27. Food and drinks will be shared, with donations toward the family's recent expenses gratefully welcomed.
