Dundee: Michael J. Meyers, age 48, of Dundee, NY, died Saturday, July 19, 2014, at his home after a long battle with brain cancer. Friends are invited to call from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Thursday (July 24) at the Lakeland Mennonite Church, 389 Rock Stream Rd., Rock Stream, NY, where services will start at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dale Eby officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.

Michael was born on January 25, 1966, in Geneva Hospital to Paul M. and Shirley (Coon) Meyers. He grew up in Dundee and graduated from Dundee High School in 1983. On February 15, 2003, he married the former Mary A. Baker.

Mike had worked at the ARC as a coach as well as a welder/painter for Mercury Aircraft. He was a main cook/chef at Savards in Watkins Glen until an injury disabled him. An avid musician, he was a regular fixture in local bands playing guitar and vocals. Along with Kim Johnson, he was one of the original founders of 'A Touch of Christmas', an annual event in Dundee. He enjoyed his family, friends, and the outdoors.

He is loved and will be dearly missed by his wife, Mary A. Baker Meyers, at home; his children, Douglas Paul Meyers of Dundee, Jacquelynn Rene Meyers of Watkins Glen, and a step-son, Justin Scovil; his mother, Shirley Meyers; a brother, Leonard "Lenny" Meyers; and a sister, Theresa (David) Marchionda, all of Dundee. He is also survived by two grandsons, three step-grandsons, as well as nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins in the area.

He was predeceased by his father, Paul, and a sister, Cindy.
