Bath: Melissa R. Hall, age 79, formerly of Wayne, NY, died Monday, April 16, 2012, at the Fred & Harriett Taylor Health Center in Bath, N.Y. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, April 21, at the Wayne Baptist Church, Route 230, Wayne, with Rev. Judy Peppard and Rev. Robert Case officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Village Cemetery. The family will greet friends at a reception following the service. Melissa was born May 7, 1932, in Rixford, PA, the daughter of the late David and Irene Booth Foster. On Jan. 3, 1951, in Hammondsport, NY, she married the late David T. Hall Sr.; he passed away on Sept. 28, 2009. A lifelong area resident, she was retired from Seneca Foods in Dundee, having also been a vineyardist and grape grower for many years in Barrington. Mrs. Hall was a member of Wayne Baptist Church and was the "Flower & Sunshine Lady." Her true passions were raising her children, loving her grandchildren, gardening, and knitting.

She is loved and will be dearly missed by a son, David T. Hall Jr. of Campbell, NY; 4 daughters, Judith L. Horton, Sherrie L. Jacoby, and Cathy A. (Doug) Polmanteer, all of Bath, NY, and Melissa R. "Lisa" (George) Hall-Griffin of Wayne, NY; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; a sister-in-law, Wanda Foster of Pulteney, NY; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
