Dundee: Mary R. Heller-Kohlenberg, age 79, of the town of Tyrone, NY, died Friday, May 18, 2012, at Schuyler Hospital in Montour Falls, N.Y. Friends are invited to call from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Thursday (May 24) at the Lakeland Mennonite Church, Rock Stream Rd., Rock Stream, NY, where a funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm with Pastor Dale Eby officiating. Burial will be in Moyer's Cemetery, Palmyra, Pennsylvania.

Mary was born November 10, 1932, in Hummelstown, PA, the daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Snavely McCorkel. She graduated from Hershey High School in 1952. On August 1, 1952, in Bachmanville, PA, she married the late Luke S. Heller; together they raised five children before he passed away on September 11, 1973. On June 9, 1977, in Lewistown, Maryland, she married the late William Kohlenberg, who passed away on December 22, 2006. They had lived locally since 1993, previously of Hornell, NY.

A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs. Heller-Kohlenberg attended the Lakeland Mennonite Church; was a devoted volunteer at the Penn Yan Office of the Ageing; and was a passionate gardener, and enjoyed all forms of needlecraft. She is loved and will be dearly missed by her only daughter, Carol M. (Allen) Faus of Rock Stream; 4 sons, Glenn M. (Bonnie) Heller of Madison, WI, David M. (Naomi) Heller of Jonestown, PA, Wayne M. (Lois) Heller of Tyrone, PA, Bruce M. (Shelley) Heller of Portland, OR; 24 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Paul McCorkel of Myerstown, PA, Jake (Louise) McCorkel of Hershey, PA, Samuel (Carol) McCorkel of Hummelstown, PA; 2 sisters, Charlotte Rissler also of Hummelstown, and Shirley (Lloyd) Myers of Denver, PA; numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husbands, she was pre-deceased by 2 brothers, Lloyd and Donald McCorkel, and 2 sisters, Mildred Runion and Geraldine Martin. Arrangements are by the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee. Online condolences can be sent by visiting www.bairdfuneralhomedundee.com.
