Leon W. Showens

Leon W. Showens, 79, of Weedsport, NY, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, at The Commons on Saint Anthony. He was born in Jordan, NY, the son of the late Wesley and Frances Showens, and had been an area life resident. Leon worked for many years for Jordan Wire. He was an avid New York Yankees and Cleveland Browns sports fan. Leon cherished the times spent with his family and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Doris (Hosford) Showens; four children, Bobbie Jo (Bobbie Jean) Showens, Robin (Brandon) Perkins, Kristy Showens (Brooks Bernhardt), and Matthew Showens; four grandchildren, Mykel, Donovan, Damien, and Leila; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Leon was also predeceased by all of his siblings: three sisters, Nancy, Frances, and Sandra; and five brothers, Harvey, Elmer, Howard, Daniel, and Robert.
