John C. Waltman Jr.

Dundee: John C. Waltman Jr., age 74, of Dundee, NY, died Monday, January 23, 2012, at Geneva General Hospital in Geneva, N.Y. Honoring his wishes, there are no prior calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

John was born May 9, 1937, in Chester County, PA, the son of the late John C. and Anne Ankney Waltman Sr. He graduated from Oxford High School in Oxford, PA, in 1956. On October 9, 1971, in Elkton, Maryland, he married the former Florence M. Hunter. They have lived locally since 1976, previously of Lincoln University, PA. A mechanic specializing in tractor and farm equipment repair, he was the proprietor of Waltman Machine Shop in Dundee. Mr. Waltman was a member of Cornerstone Bible Fellowship Church, the Y.A.T.E.S. Club - Yates Antique Tractor & Engine Society, and a former member of the Canandaigua Steam Engine Assoc. and the Rough and Tumble Engineers Historical Assoc., and enjoyed participating in their Steam Pageants and Shows.

He is loved and will be dearly missed by his wife of 40 years, Florence M. Waltman, and a daughter, Nancy L. Waltman, both at home; several nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
