PHELPS - John J. Crance, age 74 of Phelps, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Geneva General Hospital.

There will be no prior calling hours. A Celebration of Life will be held on a future date to be announced.

John was born on July 21, 1951, in Coudersport, PA, the son of the late Eugene and Anna (Outman) Crance.

John was a machinist at Garlock in Palmyra for over 40 years and a former member of the Moose Club. He loved his family and spending time with them, his motorcycle, fishing, hunting, and camping.

He is survived by his wife, Betsy (Currie) Salone Crance; son, John, Jr.; daughter, Joanne (Bob); sisters, Jeri Smith, Julie Johnson; beloved cockapoo, Teddy; several nieces and nephews.

John was predeceased by a daughter, Jennifer Crance; granddaughter, Carisa Anderson; sisters, Sharon and Gracie; brother, Junior; first wife, Jeanne.
